Why not "Little White Horse" indeed? I believe all the other titles are misleading or give too much away. While Maria is fairly central to the story it is about more than her. To focus entirely on this "moon princess" thing again, gives too much away and is an inadequate title.

I completely agree! The Little White Horse is a perfect title! The other ones just don't give the same umph as The Little White Horse. I agree, although Maria is the main character, it is not about her.

My own thoughts exactly! Why not just leave it as it is in the book's title? Like when they made Shrek, the movie title was the same name as the book was: Shrek. So whatever the problem is with leaving it alone, it's not worth destroying the original names and story lines if you aren't going to leave the titles as they are! And as for the rumor about making Robin be a bad-guy who barely even knows his mother, they had BETTER not! Bonus: The Lord of the Rings trilogy movie titles were left as is to stay with all three books' original names! P.S. If they aren't going to make it good like Lord of the Rings was and keep it as close as they can to the actual story, then count me out of going to see it in the theaters!!!! If they destroy a character and their original parts in the story, they have succeeded in destroying the entire thing! I can't stand it when they do that! And I'm probably not the only one here that feels that way, it just dissapoints me when they decide,"Oh, hey, why don't we just take that out?It doesn't work for this part in the book, oh and lets cut that out of the story, too..." See? They just keep going and going, until there's only a small piece of the original story left and then you don't know which part is actually supposed to happen where or when! Ok, I'll take a breath and let you guys have a turn saying your share. Sorry I talk so long...;D

I totally agree that they should keep "The Little White Horse".

There could be an issue with rights, however. Tolkien's son (Christopher Tolkien) is still around, and he has the ability to give permission for that kind of stuff. TLWH was published in 1946, and the author, Elizabeth Goudge, died in 1984. Who knows who has the rights to her book?

Although it's highly possible that they wanted a flashier title or something.

No offense, but some of those titles sound a bit cheesy. My vote is for The Moon Princess, if I have to choose one...

But TLWH should keep its name! smile

the only problem is that the "moon princess" might limit it's adience.
becuase there are alot of narrow minded people out there who will see "moon princess" and think it should be compared to things liek barbie or my little pony and hence only for young children.

keeping it as tlwh might actually rekindle memories from older people who have read the classic,
then again, the little white horse does sound jst as corny as the moon princess.

but, to the narrow minded people out there, honestly, it's your loss.

who's composing for the film?
i vote harry gregson-williams.
if not him, then hans zimmer.

PLEASEEE!

My first preference would definitly be the little white horse, why would you fix whats not broken. If it had to be change i think the moon princess suits too. But yeah people might be turned off by that title but its the same with the little white horse.

Personally I think the composer should be Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings was composed by him). Since he's so good at composing Fantasy stuff, why not get him to do it? I loved the music for Lord of the Rings, I think he'd do a great job.

This is great! Everyone agrees that the name should be kept - I hate it when movie titles are not the same as those of the book eg. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, The Golden Compass...
To the producers of this movie - please keep the title, it is obvious we all love it!!
