RE: who heres from new zealand?

Hahaha thank you! I am glad to be such good company.

I noticed that they keep coming on to read the posts we say but never join in or start their own topics. I think the last person to visit here besides us was Hobbit. I miss talking to her and the others. Weren't there like five other girls here that posted?

LOL I just read the closed forum and it's pretty funny! I bet the real reason why this forum isn't entirely dead is because there are two certain users who keep talking on it!

I haven't checked, I wonder if the option to create new accounts is still working.
Over the years this convo has run, I would guess 15 girls, but groups at a time. I think you would only have spoken with about 5, unless you went back and read 94 pages.

Have you read this whole thing, we sound young and self-important, it is kind of delightful.

I thought Hobbit might show up more frequently again, but I guess she doesn't get email alerts like I do.

So 12 people a day come to watch our puppet show, I would write a joke for them but suddenly can't think of one.

We are thread necromancers! Raising dead threads and thwarting website hosting overlords.

I think I have read all of the posts. I mainly remember the short stories girls were writing and discussing on one thread, and also the one where they were all waiting to see if they had gotten the part for Maria. That was sad though because they skipped over their try-out list of girls and picked Dakota Blue Richards instead. I still hate that.....it makes me mad all over again.

Mmm, yes I do remember that. I always found it rather distasteful that they got a bunch of kids hopes like that. Possibly it happened a different way. Maybe Dakota's agent offered her up, rather than the casting crew seeking her out. A sudden opportunity for an actress with more crowd drawing potential, it makes financial sense.
Still sucks, though.

Southern hemisphere DoeE, it is my winter now. It is every bit a dreary as you would expect, but a supermarket carpark flooded the other day and we drove through it repeatedly at hgh speeds. Which was rewarding.

Actually I am at uni right now, killing time for a bit before my next exam.

I had forgotten that the background image was no longer hosted. Got a bit startled when I logged in.

...You know, I had always thought I should change my signature on here.
"Happy Holidays" was only ever supposed to be up for a few weeks and it has been years. I am fond of it now, even if it does twinkle way too fast. I remember making it, so I must have the images hosted somewhere. I have no idea where though. Little mysteries.

We are now in late summer and it hasn't cooled down very much. We are going camping next week and it will cool off quite a bit during the weekend for us so it works out better than expected.

Yes, the background scared me a little as well just now! I saw locks on the first page and thought it was completely shut down. I panicked like "Oh no! I was going to say hi and now I can't! lol

I actually enjoy the signature! I think of Christmas all summer long and it makes me happier and makes my brain psychologically colder and then I don't feel so sad. I spend most of my time at work during summer humming Christmas songs and it helps me get through a hot day. (Our air conditioning doesn't cover all of our work areas. Mostly it just blows out the door and some vents are only set over the merchandise.)

I can't believe that 11 users signed on in the last 24 hours and still didn't say hi!

The weather here has no idea what it is doing, it was 20 degrees c in the day, and then drops by 13 when I want to sleep. But that is New Zealand Spring in a nutshell.

The background startled me again today, I still don't expect it. Just like the Spanish Inquisition. Are you a Monty Python fan, at all?

... then I shall keep my signature as a gallant favour to you in your time of need.

Maybe the users all hate us. Maybe we don't make them feel welcome? Or maybe they just watch us, like 'The Truman show'?

To all users: consider this conversation to be a cocktail party you are all invited to, even if you just want to observe our cheese platters.

I'm not familiar with Monty Python.
LOL! The cocktail party and cheese platters part is good.
I can't believe I haven't been on here in 10 months! How are you?

Not familiar with Monty Python?! That is a sad statement. They are an old comedy troupe that did several feature films and had a few tv series. They are retired now. Probably my favourite thing they did was the movie "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"
They are a bit ridiculous.
The reference to the Spanish Inquisition was from this bit:
(youtube) /watch?v=Tym0MObFpTI

I am well! I am in my final year of University, I plan on moving to the UK shortly after I finish. It is an exciting time for me. How are you? It must be heating up where you are. It is still dismal and rainy here, but thinking this might be my last NZ winter makes me nostalgic.

Yes, it got near 100 degrees for the high this summer.  Now we are finally experiencing the cooler autumn weather.  In fact tonight there is a tornado watch.  I can't believe there's a chance for that in November!
I am doing well.  My mother and I have been recovering from a cold with the weather changes and are anticipating a good freeze to kill the mold and stay cool so we don't have to get sick again.

I have graduated and moved to the UK! I just moved from a Kiwi summer to UK winter and am freezing my little toes off. Still, I can't complain, at least I do not have to worry about tornadoes. I have forgotten which country you live in, care to remind me?

I have so many hoops to jump through with regards to setting up my identity in the UK, I have to visit post offices and banks and all sorts of places. It is a welcome break to see a message from you in my inbox.

I am getting ready to work now that I have graduated. Have you ever had a 'real job'? What do you really want to do with your life?

I'm so sorry I haven't been here since November! I can't forget a friend like you! :(
I live in the U.S.A.

Yes, I have a real job. I don't always like it though! ;)

What do I really want to do with my life? Hmm, I'd love to meet Mr. Right and marry and have kids. I'm still stuck in my tower....I'll have to sing a little louder!

P.S. Would it be easier to friend you on facebook so I don't take eons to respond?

No worries, I like that we can rediscover this website every few months.

I have a real job now too, I answer calls from angry people and get shouted at.
I am looking for a new job.
I am also considering moving to a bigger city, maybe London or Manchester.

It is nice to hear someone who whose dream for the future is raising a family. So often we get told to define ourselves by careers.

I don't know if I want a partner and kids... I think I want to create things more than people... Maybe I want someone I can bounce ideas off and travel with.
Maybe I just want really good friends.

It probably would be easier for us to talk on Facebook, but I like it better here. I like that we are keeping this place alive. It feels like the last two people alive are sending postcards. Our messages here feel special.

Totally! I used to have a similar job....in two separate departments at work. I now work with shipping! (So much nicer!)

When I signed on here it refused my password that I've never changed, so I had to reset it via email. GRR.

If you want to connect on facebook, I'd love to! My name there is Jolee Thomas BatYah. I have a picture of a wise V.i.r.g.i.n with a lit oil lamp! I can't wait to connect with you there. And I won't have to wait for email notification to talk to you either.....I rarely sign into my email.

Heya, sorry I was swamped with life for a moment.

You know what, when I went to respond to your messages, they had done the same thing to my account. I had to reset the password on mine as well.
Clearly the website is still working fine though. Just another way to get us to stop using the dying site, so they can close down. Viva La Résistance.

When the website really locks us out, I will add you on FB, but for now I am enjoying keeping the fires burning here. I guess the others won't be logging back on. The forum won't be getting rid of me that easily,

I still work at the angry call centre. With any luck though I will be moving in the new year.

How did you change from the call-centre job without experience in other fields?

HA! They can't rid us that easily, I enjoyed this site way too much to just give it up....hence why we're still talking here.

I Love that! "Viva La Resistance". LOL

Well, you should write my name and page description down on a sticky note and keep that at the top of your computer screen or something! I'll never stop crying if they shut it down and you had no way to search for me on facebook. :(

Oh! I never worked at a call center, I was the person who answered the phone and worked a fitting room for nearly three years. That was not the ideal (or best) job.
Then I worked cashiering for another two years. And now I work in shipping and handling. MUCH nicer! I like cardboard and tape. But then, repetitive things always fascinated me. (NO MORE CRAZY MEAN CUSTOMERS! My mom used to work for a call center though, thirteen terrible years.
They fired her because she refused to call people and say they owed money which they didn't owe...the stupid phone company was hunting for money in illegal ways and FIRED her. That building may be one of the first to go in the apocalypse.

I have this pervasive image of some bureaucrat who set up the payments for this website, stroking his villain facial hair and plotting for ways to make us inactive long enough to justify closing it down.

Don't worry, I have that post print-screened, and saved on my PC. I wouldn't risk losing all this.

I know exactly what you mean. I cannot wait for a job which does not involve speaking with customers. People just start screaming because of what the last person to speak to them said.
I don't like inheriting their screaming callers.
Actually, your job sounds ideal. Quiet and regular, dealing with calls from within the business. Yes please.

!!

Good on your mum for sticking to her guns on that one. Getting fired for that reason looks good on a résumé.

Yes she was always good about not giving in to peer pressure and such.

I now work in shipping at my job, no longer have those stupid angry people to deal with. I like my new job and am starting to get good at it.

Sorry for the delay, I got busy with work and it sapped all of my energy away.

I somehow doubt anyone will speak here, again.
Maybe their passwords were invalidated just like our mysteriously were...

We remind me a bit of to AI chatbots speaking to each other - not quite sure if other people even exist.

I wonder why guests keep coming online from all over the globe, if they aren't able to see it? Strange that we can see guests from Russia, France, Spain, Australia, and a few other countries when this site was supposed to be completely shut down.

It's like there's a secret garden and we found the way in a secret door.  :)

On the other hand, maybe they CAN'T make new accounts, and these are people who used to post checking in on us or trying to log back in.

I'd never thought of it that way. I wish Hobbit would log in again and say hi! :)  She was one of the few who'd made friends with us here.

It almost feels like a summer camp we attended one year and now it's run down.  Weeds and grass everywhere and old cabins we all stayed in once with dust on the windows and raccoons living under the porch.  lol

It has been FIVE THOUSAND YEEEAAARRS! I can't remember what movie that was from, but it feels appropriate.

I see that my sparkly signature has finally bit the dust. Alas.

Since we last spoke I have moved back to NZ and I am working retail now.

I do like the idea of seeing this as abandoned play space. Like we are carving our name on a wall somewhere.
