Hey everyone, its so good to be back, i've been really busy with my kids and my horses and everything. Whats been going on, I cant wait for the movie to come out im sooooo excited. Does anyone know when it will come out. What do you all think about the Dakota, Im really jelous but im sure she'll do a great job!!!
Hello from a really new newbie. This is my 1st post on a BB ever. Decided to start at the top of the posts. 1st read TLWH long long ago - in a galaxy far far away - or so it seems. My best friend told me about the Goudge sites & then I found out about the movie of my best loved book by her. It's so great that people are still discovering this unique, timeless book. I teach in a high school in the US and most of my 17 yr. old students have never heard of Goudge. Hopefully with the movie, they will. I hope your life has been enriched by this book as mine has for many years Great pic of you and your little one. I'm a potential grandma (no grandbabies yet but my kids are working on it. I have to gush over other peoples babies for now.) Thanks, too, for this much needed board.
Yeah I hadn't heard of her untill i read the little white horse but shes fantastic, I hope more people discover her. Thanks, Im sure your future granchildren will be very lucky to have you as grandma
If you can find them, also read Linnets & Valerians, Smoky House, Valley of Song and Pilgrims Inn. I read Pilgrims Inn after I read TLWH and fell in love with the Elliots and Dameroshay. Goudge just has this magic - old-fashioned now, but it takes you to timesless places. All her books are hard to find but worth the effort. Since I'm not in naming forum, I thot I'd pass along support for naming the movie simply "The Little White Horse." If it would be appropriate, you might consider letting all of us see both you little ones. I'm an amature photographer, too, and love "people pictures!"
Thanks yeah i was looking for something new to read lol. and heres a picture of bronte and i for you haha ignore me i look ugly and fat lol tyler was there too only just tho! hehehe
He's sooooo adorable! But I don't know what you consider fat or ugly- I don't think you are either one. (My daughter says that to me all the time when I say that about myself so I'm passing it on to someone else.) I haven't been here for awhile because work's been crazy and half my kids have been sick and I got whatever it was, too, so laid around a lot and reread several Goudge books. I have almost all of them now. Maybe by the time I'm a hundred I'll have them all. When you have time to read again, haha you must try some of those other books. That time will be when your little ones are in school - thus speaks the voice of experience.
Hi, lol yeah we all tell each other that and then we think it of ourselves lol. I know what you mean I have just started a business manufacturing horse treats by hand + trying to juggle the kids is so hard. I had to drop out of school. Tusday was my last day, im so annoyed because I was in the last yr and i managed with bronte but with 2 and the business and school it was just too hard. But i might read her books to bronte. When I was pregnant with her I used to read to her every night when she was born it was easier to get her to sleep because all I had to do was read to her. I hope you wern't too sick. I've been sick to but i think its more exhaustion then anything lol.
Hey everyone! I haven't been on in forever. Where'd everyone go?
Welcome back Rutherford......I got your white board post just a second ago. So, how are you all? I am ok....I felt sick the other day too...but because of something that was bothering me about a friend of mine. Have ya'll seen the Prince Caspian trailer yet? It's gonna be so cool! I can't wait to see it......like 50 days left until it gets here (in the U.S.A that is) It's action packed, people! I saw a shorter yet different trailer of it on t.v. the other night while I was watching Extreme Make-over home edition. I had just thought to myself,"I can't wait to see it", and than suddenly the screen went black in between commercials and had "This Summer......Journey Back", in big letters. I almost screamed because it was so funny it just popped up like that. It's sure to put me on the edge of my seat.....especially since I've been waiting 2 and a half years for this one since the first movie came out in 2005. But it'll be worth it. Isn't Georgie Henley (Lucy) adorable? I wish I had a little sister like her....she's so sweet! Ok, I've had my million words. Sort of. *passes the microphone*
